FAQ
What kind of clients do you typically work with?
I work with leaders, teams, and organizations dealing with complex ideas, high-stakes communication, or moments where clarity and judgment matter.
This includes:
Executives and leadership teams
Research-driven organizations
Universities and academic institutions
Nonprofits and civic organizations
Early- to mid-stage companies navigating growth, change, or visibility
If the work involves ambiguity, decision-making, or communicating responsibly to important audiences, we’re likely aligned.
Do you work as an agency or on retainer?
No. I don’t operate as an agency, and I don’t offer ongoing content retainers.
Most engagements are:
Short-term advisory projects
Defined speaking or facilitation engagements
Scoped writing or research-translation work
This structure keeps the work focused, effective, and aligned with decision-making needs.
Do you manage social media accounts or produce ongoing content?
No.
I don’t manage social media accounts, content calendars, or daily posting. I also don’t chase trends or optimize for virality.
I do help organizations and leaders think clearly about messaging, positioning, and communication strategy—especially when the consequences of getting it wrong are meaningful.
What’s the difference between advisory work and consulting?
My advisory work is collaborative and judgment-focused.
Rather than delivering a fixed playbook, I help leaders:
Clarify priorities
Frame decisions
Pressure-test ideas
Anticipate how messages will be interpreted
This work is less about volume deliverables and more about improving thinking, alignment, and outcomes.
Do you offer one-off speaking engagements?
Yes.
I regularly speak at:
Conferences
Universities
Professional associations
Leadership forums
Speaking engagements can include keynotes, guest lectures, panels, or facilitated discussions. Each engagement is tailored to the audience, context, and goals.
Can you customize talks or workshops?
Yes
If you’re looking for something highly specific or interdisciplinary, that’s often a good fit.
Do you work with research or data-heavy teams?
Yes—frequently.
I work with research, insights, and UX teams to translate findings into guidance leaders can actually use. This often includes synthesizing research, advising on framing, and supporting responsible communication of results.
This is especially common in health, technology, and academic–industry contexts.
How do engagements usually start?
Most work begins with a short conversation to understand goals, context, and fit.
From there, I’ll recommend a clear next step—whether that’s a scoped project, a speaking engagement, or something else. If I’m not the right fit, I’ll say so.
Do you work remotely or in person?
Both.
Most advisory and writing work is remote. Speaking engagements and facilitated sessions may be remote or in person, depending on location and needs.
What is your pricing structure?
Pricing depends on the scope, format, and timeline of the work.
I price based on:
Complexity
Level of responsibility
Preparation required
Stakes involved
I’m transparent about expectations and costs upfront, and I don’t upsell unnecessary work.
Are you available for long-term engagements?
Occasionally, when the scope is well-defined and the work benefits from continuity.
That said, many clients engage me for focused, high-impact work rather than ongoing arrangements.
How do I know if we’re a good fit?
We’re likely a good fit if:
You value clarity over noise
You’re comfortable with thoughtful, research-informed perspectives
You want a partner who will be honest—even when the answer isn’t simple
If you’re unsure, a short conversation is the best way to find out.
